With the arrival of smart cards, there is a
growing need to process magnetic and ICC cards at the same workstation. Many applications
will require co-existence of these media types. The M950 series address this requirement.
It can be used for card issuing, supporting both smart card personalization and magnetic
card encoding. With a simple and reliable motorized card feeding mechanism, the M950
series have an easy to use ATM-like user interface. They handle both synchronous and asynchronous (T=0, T=1) types of IC cards in accordance with the ISO 7816-1, 2 and 3 standards. For magnetics, the functions are equivalent to the 905 or 915. The device connects to PC serial ports and is supported by device drivers for DOS, Windows 95, Windows NT, and OS/2. An external 9V or 24V DC power adapter provides power for low or high coercivity models.
