If your application requires encoding as well as read, the 904, 905 and 915 series will meet your needs. Using separate read and encode heads, these units allow a single pass encode, with a read verify following the encode operation. Three colored LED's and an audible alarm are provided for operator guidance, to address the increased function of these models. The encoders attach only via the serial port.

The 905 is an extension of the RS series, offering the same variations in track read support. Encoding is at low coercivity on any or all of the 3 card tracks, in compliance with ISO 7811. Passbooks can also be encoded, according to the IBM 4700 specification. Power can be either via the keyboard port or external adapters, as with the RS series.

The 904 is a subset of the 905, supporting only passbook encoding, but also full track read capability.

If you require high coercivity encoding, in support of emerging card standards, the 915 is the answer. Encoding any or all 3 card tracks (not passbook), this unit requires an external power adapter due to the increased power requirements, This model also supports a custom data stream, where encode data can be specified on a bit basis.
